Years ago, I had to put my shih tzu (brother of a Best in Show winner) PTS because he had all the symptoms of that spaniel in the link. Overwhelmed and miserable, we felt the kindest thing to do was to end his suffering. The vets said "Demodex", giving him antibiotics, toxic dips, and steroids. He also had Hypothyroid. Now I wonder if he may have been overvaccinated....
